Ride route:

Ramnagar, Bavdhan meet up 0545 am -> Ride starts at 0600 am -> Pashan Circle -> University Circle -> Range Hills -> Kirkee War Cemetery -> Vishrantwadi -> Dighi -> Alandi Temple Complex -> Chikhali -> Dehu -> Dehu Road -> Ravet -> Bhumkar Chowk -> Balewadi -> Ramnagar.

Description:

The summers have started setting in, so we do shorter and quicker rides to avoid the harsh sun. The monthly tribe special has this route wherein we tick off two of the most revered destinations around Pune which have historical, cultural, social and religious references attached.

It’s a 75 kms moderate paced ride with a couple of stops for regroups, photo ops and some time to be spent at the beautiful Alandi temple complex by the Indrayani River. The route is predominantly flat with smooth wide roads for most of the part. There is bound to be heavy traffic along the route. We maintain a good pace so that we complete the ride well in time and are not affected so much by the rising temperatures. The return journey will be mostly via the Highway so we have to be alert and safe while riding back.

Please carry spare tubes, a personal puncture repair kit, at least 2 liters of water, some snacks like biscuits and/or dry fruits for energy and some glucose powder/tablets. Total time taken for the ride will be somewhere close to 5 hours, since we will be taking breaks for regroups, having conversations, spending some time at the temple complex and clicking some great pictures, in addition to breaks that occur due to rains or anything else.

Kindly note that there will be no back up vehicle. It’s a self-supported ride.
